* This was written for a friend’s wedding* 
Somehow my eyes opened this
morning
And as I fully became aware
I knew I would never be the same again
and I smiled at the thought
“Me” would soon be “we”
and a tear comforted my memories.
And I realized how far we’ve made it…
Somehow
… you infiltrated my walls,
you conquered my fears of you shunning
my imperfections,
you wrestled with my stubbornness,
fought with my hardness
and still stayed warm enough
for me to love you – to love you
and you loved me…
Somehow
… I can’t escape the light in your eyes
Even now, as you smile,
and your truth warms mine.
We stand together, tenderly knowing… in wonder
As this new eternity lingers in my heart
For us, the new “we”
Somehow, through everything you choose to stand
by my side
And tomorrow you’ll remain here still
The way it was orchestrated from the beginning
When our Maker planned, and He smiled, and now
as His mind has been reveal to us
Somehow

I think I want to have a poem read when I renew my vows. This was lovely and a perfect wedding poem.
