About
Who is Caela Naomi Strong?
Someone human. Someone real. Someone learning as she goes along. Someone loved. Someone open. Someone saved. Someone: Strong. – - Just trying to share my voice through my poetry, in hopes that it can help someone else the way it’s helped me.
Why Vulture Eye Chronicle?
It comes from the Edgar Allen Poe story, A Tell Tale Heart: “I loved the old man. He had never wronged me. He had never given me insult. For his gold I had no desire. I think it was his eye! Yes, it was this! One of his eyes resembled that of a vulture — a pale blue eye with a film over it. Whenever it fell upon me my blood ran cold, and so by degrees, very gradually, I made up my mind to take the life of the old man, and thus rid myself of the eye for ever.”
Just like the narrator, I’ve found myself (many times) obsessing and focusing on things that really didn’t deserve that much attention. Unlike the murderous man, though, I instead write a lot of poetry in the midst of my obsessions. Even though all my pieces are not from a ‘vulture eye’ moment, there are many that do fit the category. I am glad that in between these episodes, I have gotten the chance to live and love my life! I am especially grateful for the chance to share the scope of my emotions and experiences with you.
